Ali + Cam // Intimate Winter Wedding in Birmingham, Alabama.
So much happened leading up to this wedding day. From extreme travel delays to ER visits less than 24 hours prior to the ceremony, it’s truly a miracle everything came together as beautifully as it did!
Birmingham was experiencing an ice storm and was declared in a State of Emergency the weekend of Ali and Cam’s wedding. While I was checking my lighting and chatting with Cam a few minutes before his bride-to-be was supposed to arrive for their first look, we had an amazing conversation. While we were both shivering but waiting in anticipation, he looked me in the eyes, and said, “Kristen, I am SO ready to marry this woman.” Cam went on to say how sacrificially she had taken care of him over the past few days and he was so thankful God blessed him with such an amazing woman who loves him more than he deserves. Seeing the love he so clearly has for his bride made me tear up and we were both in tears before the first look even happened! Afterwards, many more tears ensued. I honestly think one of the main challenges of being a wedding photographer is learning how to shoot through happy tears!
Despite the icy forests and unseasonal temperatures for Alabama, Ali and Cam immediately warmed up as soon as they saw each other for the first time. We spent most of the afternoon hiking around and exploring some pretty beautiful places in Birmingham. And I have to say, I love this girl so much. Instead of heels, she was in snow boots. And ROCKED them. Ali was so patient and laid back during the photos.. I just love her.
After photos, we headed to a small community center basement for the ceremony with only a few family members to witness. It was one of the most intimate, meaningful, Christ-centered ceremonies I’ve ever been a part of and I am so grateful to have been a part of their day!
