Chasing Waterfalls | Engagement at Matthiessen State Park, IL | Chelsi + Reid
Waterfalls and love just go together, ya feel? Engagement sessions are THE best not only because of the photos (duh), but because it gives us a chance to get to know each other even better so come wedding day, couples are even MORE comfortable during bridal portraits.
Chelsi and Reid live downtown Chicago and are getting married at the most BEAUTIFUL venue this December. I’ll keep the venue a secret.. you’ll just have to check back before Christmas this year! Despite numerous emails, phone chats and sometimes FaceTime calls, it’s always a little nerve wracking going into a session with two people you’ve never met before, but it seems to work out perfectly every time! Especially when it feels more like a double date than a photo session! These two were no exception.
These babes chose Matthiessen as a location for their engagement session because of their great love for the outdoors and adventure. They’ve been on some crazy adventures together, and are planning on exploring Patagonia next year. PATAGONIA. Safe to say I’m a bit jealous although I’m super jazzed for them! Anyways (still bitter hah), one of the things I loved most about shooting with Chelsi and Reid was how trusting they were of the process. They were down for literally ANYTHING I would throw at them: sitting in dress pants in a dirty cave, crossing sketchy rocks in 2ft of water, trekking up overgrown hikes, scaling wet rock, and standing underneath a waterfall. And it was WORTH IT.
Here’s a few of my favorites from their engagement session! See you in December, guys!
