Oh my goodness gracious. These two. I don’t know where to start because this weekend was nothing short of incredible. Tori and Michael are two of the sweetest humans EVER and it was such an honor to be a part of their celebration.
I had been looking forward to shooting this wedding and meeting Tori and Michael ever since that first email inquiry came through and I saw the words “midnight ceremony, “reverse wedding.” And I have to say, it lived up to every crazy expectation I had in my mind, and far more so.
Tori and I became good friends before we even met (have I mentioned recently that I love my job?) and hearing about all the hard work she put into her day made me even MORE stoked for their wedding weekend. They chose to say their I Dos in their super small town in Kansas in Tori’s parents’ backyard. They said they couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else and after shooting their wedding, we could see why! This family is pretty amazing.
One of my favorite parts about their wedding day was that they chose to get ready together. They had this amazing teepee as a space to prep each other to say their vows and it still gives me goosebumps thinking about how special this time was for them! Another highlight was that they walked down the aisle together. I talked to them afterwards and they said that switching up these couple traditions made the whole day even more special!
Because they had a “reverse wedding,” they did everything backwards. Started with the celebration, had a dinner, dances, then a ceremony under the fall moonlight (and snuck in some extra celebration afterwards!). Acoustic Led Zepplin was playing during the entire ceremony and instead of a formal proclamation of marriage, they wrapped up the ceremony with a Busch Light toast with their guests. It was nothing short of perfection.
I could ramble on for hours but I know you’d rather see images! One more quick part of their wedding weekend that was incredible: they chose to do a morning after session. The morning after their wedding, Eric and I showed up with coffee in hand to the airstream they were staying in for a cuddle session. It was AMAZING. I still tear up looking through these images and thinking about how special they will be to Tori and Michael years from now! So make sure you watch their story to the end. Cheers! <3

Their love and the way you captured it are peas in the same pod. This wedding is so unique and I don’t think they could have picked a better artist to document their day.
